Reflection

REFLECTION

Honestly it is hard to believe that it is already the final project. I enjoyed working on this module; I just wish I had more time to do it. It was interesting to work on this brief, because I have never done anything similar to this. I never designed anything for a museum, because design wise it is not really my cup of tea. However I learnt a lot and it was actually more fun than I though it would be. I like trying out different techniques and working on many ideas. I am really glad Sheila and I chose this design as the final one, because it suits to the brief, but it also suits to my style, which is obliviously very important for me. Originally I wanted to create a very different design, but the truth is I like this version more now and it is really better.

This module was also exciting because I did not just learn about design, I also learnt about life. I was not familiar before with qurikology and during my research I found so many interesting facts I did not know before. I enjoyed reading about so many different topics such as lies, luck and dreams. I found many interesting information on Quirkology.com and also found some great interviews and videos on Youtube.

I have spent lots of time developing my ideas and altering them. Sheila gave me lots of honest feedback, which helped me a lot to make my work better, to push my idea further. I am glad she also old what she thought about a certain idea or design, because these comments helped me to achieve this result. As I mentioned before even though designing for museums and exhibitions is not my cup of tea, I am still happy with the final design and I am really proud of the result.

I must admit working the programme was the most challenging part of the brief for me. First of all because it was a lot of work, secondly because I wrote the text and I am not the best at writing. It was really hard to write an interesting few paragraphs for the programme. I did lots of research to make sure the facts are real and interesting enough for the reader. Working on the ticket, sign and poster design were my favourite parts, it was something I love doing and something I find easy to do. I think all of the promotional items work very well together at the end of the day.

Even though I was very busy in this semester and could not spend as much time working on this project as much I wanted, luckily in the last 2-3 weeks I really did the best I could and spent many hours working on the brief. After all the difficulties and challenges I think the final designs are very nice, especially when they are applied to billboards, magazines or T-shirts.
